WHAT CAN YOU DO IN HIGHLANDS?


Rent bicycles and ride through town, out to Sandy Hook or along Henry Hudson Trail.

Climb aboard a charter boat and go fishing in the bay or ocean.

Spend the day at one of many beaches along the Shrewsbury River or the Atlantic Ocean.

Pack a picnic lunch and then hike the many beautiful trails of Hartshorne Woods.

Visit the Historical Twin Lights -- the highest and most scenic spot of the entire Jersey Shore.  Climb to the top of the lighthouse to see a spectacular view which includes the Atlantic Ocean, New York City and Staten Island.

Walk across the bridge to see a beautiful view of the ocean and catch the breezes.

Take a ride on the SeaStreak Ferry and spend the day in New York City.

Walk through historic Highlands and imagine what life was like more than a hundred years ago.

Rent a boat and spend a day exploring or fishing the local waterways.

Enjoy delicious seafood at one of several waterfront restaurants.  

Enjoy different cuisines and dining experiences from a variety of restaurants.

Listen to live music, a DJ or participate in karaoke when the sun sets and the nightlife begins.

Take a cruise on the water and enjoy sipping champagne while looking at the sun set on Raritan Bay.

Try your hand at beachcombing to find ancient artifacts, sea glass or old bottles.

Visit one of our many parks and read a book or enjoy the flowers.
